New Computers in the library

Over the summer the IT department at LMC installed 53 new PCs in the library. We now have a total of 65 spread throughout the library. We also have THREE, yes THREE new printers. No more standing in line to get your print released.

  • The L-105 lab received 23 new PCs. All flash/thumb/travel drives should work in the new PCs now. There is also a new printer in the lab for your printing pleasure.
  • 13 PCs on the main floor have the 38 software packages that were on the PCs in B-303. Software for your classes like Accounting, Healthful Living, Nursing, etc. There is a new printer in the center of the library for all 25 PCs on the main floor.
  • 17 PCs are on East end of the second floor (mezzanine). They have some of the same software from the B-303 lab but not all 38 programs. One of the 3 new printers is also upstairs so you won't have to go far for your printout.

NoodleBib is now available

NoodleBib at http://www.noodletools.com/ is a new subscription database for students to use to create citations using either APA or MLA style. Students need to create a personal ID to log in. This service will create citations and provide notecards for use in direct quotes, paraphrasing, and other ideas to add to the research paper. There are statistical graphs which analyze the quantity, variety and currency of sources. The bibliographies and notecards can be exported directly to Word. The information will be stored to return to later. This same information can be shared with instructors for feedback. Instructors can insert comments and ask questions when viewing the filled out citation form.
